Here are a few more pictures that show the colors better.  In case you were wondering, Sarah is wearing a dark teal dress with a gold trim around the waist area.  She will be wearing gold earrings and delicious gold heals!  If there's anything I love more than photography and makeup, it's SHOES!

About a month ago I was asked by one my old youth group girls - Sarah - to do makeup for her prom.  I used to do makeup all the time - I worked for Chanel and did a few weddings, and countless proms, so of course I immediately agreed.  But I was in for a surprise.  I haven't done makeup in such a long time - I don't wear it myself really.  My daily routine is mineral face powder with an SPF, MASCARA,  MASCARA, MASCARA, eyeliner [on a good day], and a basic light tan shimmery eyeshadow.  So needless to say I was a little out of practice.  I am a very OCD makeup artist, but I tend to think that's a good thing.  So today Sarah and I had our "dry run" 2 weeks before prom.  I do this so I can give the "client" exacly what she is looking for, and still have plenty of time to work out any kinks.  Also, this lets us know about how long it will take on the day of prom.  During a typical "dry run" I sit down and consult with them and find out what they want, what they're comfortable with, and what kind of a look they're going for.  Sarah wanted something natural with a special little flare. I went natural - but did the makeup showy enough for prom and heavy enough to show up in pictures.  Next friday we go shopping to find that little special flare, and have another practice run.  Then the weekend after that is prom and we will be more than prepared.

HairCut!!!!

Today I got a much needed haircut!  I haven't had one in over a year - and needed about six inches cut off.  I also opted to get bangs.  This picture is terrible because I am incapable of doing self portraits and couldn't get one that showed the bottom part for the life of me.  It pretty much stops there though.  I will work on setting up a better before and after post later.

School Crap

Today, after I spent countless hours studying and finishing homework last night. I went to school and took my Econ midterm, and spent the extra time at school running around trying to get all the needed signatures to withdraw =[ from my classes.  It was HELL.  I needed four different signatures to drop 2 classes.  Then, I had to stand in line forever to submit the Petition to Withdraw.

I also went to the PASS office to find out why the heck I still have a math hold on my record.  It said online it would affect my registration, but the girls at the pass office assured me it wouldn't, as they can't remove it anyway, and it will be on my record until I graduate =[.  What the heck?  I'm trying to make sure everything is taken care of because I register tomorrow, and need things to go smoothly. 

I sat down all night and made sure I had my schedule for next semester all laid out.  Yay for being prepared for once.  I hope it pays off.

I've been playing around with my camera.  I'm basically trying to teach myself new things.  I was playing with the natural lighting here, and I'm pretty sure I was messing with the other setting also.  I need to keep reading my photography book, and maybe take a class or two.  Please let me know what you think.  Constructive criticism always helps!

Dirty, Disgusting Little Creature . . . That I love so Much!

This is the reason that Nymrod is an indoor cat!  I have three cats, but only one that I let outside.  The reason for that is clearly shown above:  Nymrod, living up to his name, has no idea how to be and indoor and outdoor cat like Faffie.  He "escaped" when we let our dog out the front door.  He was probably planning it all day.  Well, I heard him - mainly his collar - tinkering outside our kitchen window.  When I looked out the window to talk to him, I observed this little hellion doing barrel rolls in the nice DIRT!  I ran outside to get him so fast he barely had time to run away from me.  Look at his paws!  He is a white cat with tan spots - look at all the black!  The water was disgusting when we put him in.  I do feel bad though - he was probably just trying to cool down.  It's 11:30 at night and it's 90 degrees in my house =[.  We don't have the luxury of air conditioning.

Blue Screen of DEATH! X[

Not something I wanted to see today.  Literally I just got the dreaded Blue Screen of Death.  It flashed on my screen for like 2 seconds and then my computer restarted itself, and as far as I can tell, my lap top is okay!  What the jungle does this mean?!  If my lap top dies my life as I know it will seriously be over!  Not good, not good, NOT GOOD!

Blah de Blah Blahg =]

So I stated in an earlier post that I would like to learn how to make hand stamped jewelry.  I have been reading the blog of this amazing woman Lisa Leonard and she has inspired me even more to get going with this dream of mine.  It just looks so exciting, and I know I can do it, I know enough about making jewelry, but would love to take a metal working class and soldering class which is something she suggested doing.  Anywho, her blog is very interesting to read.  She is also an aspiring photographer and mother of 2 beautiful kids.  She makes amazing stuff and does giveaways every so often.  Every so often she will have special sales and deals, and make special listings that contribute to charities as well.  She did one recently to help raise money for Stephanie and Christian Nielson.  When I read their story I balled for hours.  No joke.  It's so sad to hear what happened to their family and they need prayers.  If you haven't heard their story, you can read it here.  It happened at the end of 2008, but they are still going through hard times.  It was so refreshing to see someone do something for another, especially a complete stranger.  Those kinds of things don't happen very often these days.  But I digress.  You can see Lisa's amazing creations at her website, Lisa Leonard Designs.  Below is an example of some of her work!  Enjoy! =]

A little Beehind! teehee

I've been getting behind on my blogging. =[  I'm such a slacker.  Most of today has been spent editing pictures.  I hate this tedious time consuming task so much sometimes.  But the results pay off in the end . . . Most of the time.  So I digress, and give you my Photo of the Day.  Maybe I shouldn't call it Photo of the Day because I don't give them daily . . . hmm, maybe it should be called, "Photo of the Moment".

This is Oliver Sox, aka Faffie, Mr. Grump Butt, Jerk Face, A*Hole, Miss Kitty[even though he's a boy!].  I could go on forever.  He's 4 and he was my first rescue.  He HATES having his picture taken for some reason and refuses to make eye contact with the camera.  Every so often I get some pretty good pictures of him.  He really is a lover, but only at night.  He's grumpy as all get out during the day, and misses being an only cat.  Too bad for him because he has a brother and a sister now!

Anywho, still editing photos like crazy.  I have a bunch more to post from easter and some more of the handsome kitty in the picture above!   

A Job . . . Kind of

So I have a job again!  Hooray.  After being unemployed since December =[.  I will be working for my cousin [insert the "Kind Of" here].  I'll be watching her two little babies Shelby Lynn and Shaylee Jean full time - although I don't have any pictures of Shaylee yet.  I didn't want to blind her with my flash.  It should be fun.  I'm excited to be able to spend time with them as they grow up.  I'll also be learning QuickBooks and doing the payroll for my cousin and her husband's construction company William's Construction.

Should be lots of fun!  And I'm so thankful to be making money again!  Because I have crazy bills to play!
